Electrical fault finding & repairs
Find the cause. Understand the repair. Get back to what matters.
Discuss your projectAn intermittent fault, a circuit that keeps tripping or an area without power needs a methodical investigation. PP EMS helps homes and businesses in Letchworth Garden City and Hertfordshire establish what is happening, then explains the findings and the proposed repair.
Experience that makes a difference
Our electrical and engineering experience helps us distinguish an installation fault from an equipment problem. We investigate within our expertise and explain when a machine manufacturer, appliance specialist or another professional is needed. We do not replace parts simply to see whether the problem goes away.
Tell us what happens, and when
Useful clues include whether one fitting, one circuit or several areas are affected; whether a protective device trips; and whether the problem appears when particular equipment is used. You do not need to diagnose the fault before contacting us.
We agree an investigation rather than assume the cause from a message or photograph. Testing may require isolation and access to parts of the installation, so we discuss occupants, equipment and any interruption to the affected supply before the visit.
Findings first, then an agreed repair
Once we have established the cause, we explain the proposed work and any further investigation or parts needed. Some faults can be repaired during the diagnostic visit; others need a separate appointment or a specialist outside our scope.
For a business, we also discuss what must remain operational and any previous faults or recent changes. Our industrial experience is useful where a problem sits between a machine and the electrical supply feeding it.
Before we get started
Your questions,
answered.
Why does my circuit breaker or RCD keep tripping?
There are several possible causes, including a fault in connected equipment or the electrical installation. The pattern can help guide an investigation, but it does not establish the cause by itself. Tell us what happens and we can discuss a diagnostic visit.
Can you guarantee to fix the fault on the first visit?
No. The repair depends on what the investigation finds, access and any parts or specialist input required. We explain what is known, what can be completed and any further work needed.
Can you investigate a fault raised in an EICR?
Yes. Send the report and the observations you want investigated. We can discuss the required scope, propose remedial work where appropriate and provide the relevant records for completed electrical work.
